It is so difficult for us to change.  Year after year we make resolutions that seem to be lived out only a short  time into the new year.  When we examine our life, or see ourselves in the mirror, we often have an intense desire to be better.  Inherent in every human heart is a desire to be better.  But all to often we either (1) deny the need for change or (2) believe that real change isn't possible.  So we stay stuck in the mud of our life.  Why is that?      The reason that we stay stuck in the mud is because we are refusing to see that we need to change.  We have too much self pride to admit that we need help.  1 John 1:8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."  If we are saying to ourselves that there is nothing about us that needs to be better, we are lying to ourselves.  It is my belief that we all want to be better.  Sometimes we just don't know how.
